Salts

To understand how salts damage cultural heritage, how to take efficient measures against existing salt-induced damages or to take preventive measures, it is necessary to understand what salts are, how they behave or interact with their environment. On real objects, salts always appear as salt mixtures containing many different ions, so they cannot be observed isolated.
