Salts

To understand how salts damage cultural heritage objects, or how to adopt effective measures against existing salt-induced damages and which preventive measures can be taken, it is necessary to understand what salts are, how they behave or interact with their environment. In real situations, salts generally appear as salt mixtures so that the behaviour of a particular salt cannot be observed independently.
